Installing Postgresql 6.2.1

Okay The boss said let's install a database, use Postgresql. Ok.

I already have the postgresql-6.2.1.tar.gz. and a lot of peripheral info.
The question is, is there a module or other kind of package that is needed.

We did a search of http://cgi.debian.org/cgi-bin/htsearch and found
postgresql 6.2.1-13 mentioned.

We then proceeded to use the deselect on our machine and found Postgress,
Posgres95, but no postgresql 6.2.1-13.

We are using Debian Linux 1.3 and Apache 1.1.3-6.
