please use long names:

jdk is more than the java compiler: javadoc, jdb, ...
so let us use the presice name:
java-compiler
there is IMHO no need to use a version number, the language remains
the same, only the libraries are changed and will be changed in the
future ...
And I have a program/package that will need a virtual-machine: iDoc -
search for missing javadoc comments in your source code
