harmony project is seeking developers.

Hello!

I would like to inform you about the harmony project (aka freeqt). It tries
to make it easier to port applications from Qt to the Gtk Toolkit via the
Gtk-- wrapper for C++.

   Goals:
     * Provide a library under LGPL that implements basic functionality of
       an interface (source level) compatible with Trolltech's Qt gui toolkit
     * Make GPL and LGPL applications now relying Trolltech's Qt library
       available also to people who prefer only use libraries they can modify
       and port to other platforms without additional restrictions compared
       to LGPL. This makes many GPL'd applications available for completely
       free operating systems for example.

   What this project is not:
     * A complete gui library. You should use gtk-- instead if you want a
       LGPL'd C++ gui library.
     * Perfect copy of Qt (never will be, you should use Qt if you want one)
       The advanced features like OGL widgets will probably never be implemented.
       Additionally other features might be implemented.

Further information can be found at the homepage

The project is in a very early stage, but you can imagine how important this
project may be, can't you ;)
I asked them if they need support like webspace, cvs or something like this.
They have this all, so the only thing they really need are good programmers
willing to help.

Thank you for the interest,
Marcus
who is looking forward to Gmahjongg.
