Yes I was.

I'm afraid I've been busy doing things for money, and I'm on holiday for a 
week in an hour's time, so if you could try it yourself and tell me how you 
get on, it will remind me to deal with it when I get back.

Alternatively, post it as a wishlist bug against ssh (if someone has not 
already done so).

The problem is getting it so that people who don't use socks are not forced to 
install libsocks.
