i would like to point out two things:

1.  the script advises the user to reboot by typing "shutdown -r now", and
    has done for several versions.

2.  the script runs "sync ; sync ; sync" after everything has been installed.

3.  (ok, i can't count :-) check the latest version of the script.  
    current version is 0.10. i've got a couple of changes to make, so
    i will probably release 0.11 tonight after i get home from work.
