The SOS operating system for the DMS100 telephone switch (made by
Northern telecom).  You can upgrade bits and pieces of the kernel
while it's running (at least in theory). Of course for certain things
(like the interrupt system) a reboot (restart) is still necessary.

An interesting system to work with... for a while.
