Then there is the guy who wants to install via a serial terminal
because this enables him to install Debian via his Braille-controlled
speaking PC. I want to meet this requirement even though he represents
less then 2%.

(I suspect that his terminal software can handle ANSI, but this shows
the diversity of computing environments.)

Might work.

It could be used, but the current system is quite useable. It where
nice if tzconfig would run on the root floppy. Another option might be
to do timezone configuration after the boot.

And we should consider tools beyond dialog.
