I had never read this... my system does not have a /usr/doc/passwd
directory for some reason. I started with 1.1.2, and have upgraded a
few times since then; one upgrade being dpkg installation of:
shadow-login_960810-1, shadow-passwd_960810-1, and shadow-su_960810-1.
I may be missing some pieces then???

I am a little too, now. This is a single person workstation, and I
rarely need those utilities. I'm not much of a tester for them.
Perhaps someone else will know more.
