Re: Policy on pkgs with same filename and QA rant (was: Re: Mercury compiler (policy, anybody)?)

Hi,

I deplore me toos. But Chris Fearnley <cjf@netaxs.com> has
brought up an isue that hits close to the heart: we seem to be
drifting into a state where decisions are either made unilaterally,
or by voting (and hence ignoring any objections by the minority, no
matter how relevant or critical they may be); of policy presented to
the roup as fait accompli, with all the decisions haveing been made,
again, unilaterally and behind the scenes.

As in any relationship, failure to communicate, or communicate
without acrimony, is the sign of a serious problem, and is often the
 beginning of the end.

Maybe the question we should be asking is why has this
happened? Volume on the list? the increasing flammage we have seen?
 Grown too big to handle?
