Shadow passwords (was Re: Upcoming Debian Releases )

Great!  One question, though: have packages like xdm & vlock been updated to 
be able to handle shadow passwords, and has the relevant xmkmf config file 
been updated to reflect the fact that shadow passwords are in use?  Unless you 
are the maintainer of those packages, the peeople in charge of them need to be 
made aware of the modifications needed.... This is actually why I didn't just 
use the shadow-* packages with the current Debian release -- no energy to 
recompile a bunch of stuff :-)

Oh sure, make is type long words like "interpreters" all the time <grin>
