Why bother? There are debian packages of tcl 8.0 and tk 8.0 at
ftp.debian.org, or you can search for them at
http://www.debian.org/packages.html
It means you'll have to upgrade to unstable, but that's really not a
problem if you follow the libc5-tolibc6-mini-howto, and "unstable" has
been just as reliable as "stable" for me since June.
