Questions about Database, C-ISAM and Sound card under DEBIAN Linux.

I am searching for a DataBase system and/or C-ISAM system. I tried to install Ingres04,  within the compilation in(source/equel) the error was Y.TAB.H was not found ?

Do you have a reference for a DataBase for programming with C and SQL languages ?

How I can install a sound card (like ESS 688, compatible with SB Pro) under DEBIAN Linux ?
