Intent to package: makepasswd



This is a password generation/encryption utility needed in particular
by ircd, but which could have a variety of applications.

Planned dist is main/utils.


 new debian package, version 2.0.
 size 7678 bytes: control archive= 597 bytes.

 Description: Generate and encrypt passwords
  Generates true random passwords by using the /dev/random feature of
  Linux, with the emphasis on security over pronounceability.  It can
  also encrypt plaintext passwords given on the command line.

       makepasswd - generate and/or encrypt passwords

HISTORY
       makepasswd  was  originally  part of the mkircconf program
       used to centrally administer the  Linux  Internet  Support
       Cooperative IRC network.  It is useful in situations where
       passwords must be secure and  need  not  be  memorized  by
       humans,  or  where  a quick plaintext->ciphertext password
       translation is needed.
