I2O?

I saw your name mentioned in an article about I2O. I too am frustrated by
the closed nature of the specification. I would like to start an effort to
design an alternative but don't know where to start. If you have any ideas
on how this could be accomplished I would like to hear about it. I think
an open specification for I/O processor interface is essential to high
performance systems.
