xpm4, next try
Well, I've uploaded yet another non-maintainer version of xpm4
and I hope with this one the dependencies problem is solved.
The packages are:
xpm-bin_3.4j-0.3
xpm4g_3.4j-0.3
xpm4g-dev_3.4j-0.3
xpm4-altdev_3.4j-0.3
xpm4.7_3.4j-0.3
As you see, the main change is that the package that contains the
libc5-based xpm library is again xpm4.7
There's a minor cosmetic bug there, because the library itself is
libxpm.so.4.10 (I guess that's why Michael changed the name of this
package), but as the soname is the same, there shouldn't be more
problems.
The new xpm4.7 conflicts with xpm4 so remove that (using --force-depends if
necessary) before installing the new one. If you are updating from the
old xpm4.7 in stable you won't have any problem (I hope).
Finally a wish. We should try to fix dpkg to support versioned provides soon.
It's really a pitta that we can't replace a package if there are versioned
dependencies laying around.
Thanks,
