I don't know. Perhaps is to be consistent, keeping all X11 stuff under
/usr/X11R6 . Nevermind, as there are many packages out there waiting for
this library, I will follow your lead and use /usr/lib/libc5-compat/ for
xpm4. We have enough time to fix that before the next freeze. :-)
