I quite liked somebody's idea (sorry, can't remember who), whereby
we'd create sub directories under /usr/X11R6/include/X11/pixmaps
called 16x16 or 32x32 or whatever.  Then the user can customise
his/her menus/buttons by changing the pixmap search path in their
window manager resource file.
