Packages still containing a.out binaries

A quick grep of the bugs list shows several packages still with bugs
against them for containing a.out:

 4572 ucbmpeg    ucb-mpeg_play is still a.out        Volker Ossenkopf
 5058 ucbmpeg    ucbmpeg still a.out                 Warwick HARVEY
 5061 ucbmpeg_pl ucbmpeg_play still a.out            Warwick HARVEY

Are these maintainers still alive?
