This is a problem with xpm and sonames. The maintainer, Michael Alan
Dorman, and ldd disagree on how to solve the problem. Does anyone
have a solution?
xpm4.7 recently release xpm4.7.shlibs with the following line:
libXpm 4.7 xpm4.7 (>= 3.4g-1)
Unfortunately, ldd on gwm gives the following results.
ldd gwm
libXpm.so.4 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4.7
dpkg doesn't recognize xpm4.7.shlibs since it refers to libXpm with
soname of 4.7, though ldd thinks that the soname should be 4. I'm
using a very recent version of ldso.
Package: ldso
Version: 1.8.8-1
What is the solution to this problem. Should ldso be fixed or is
there a solution for xpm4.7?
