how about just a wrapper (or change to the start up lines of
xblast_setup; this works with perl, don't know if it works with wish)
that looks for wish, if it finds it, feeds the rest of the script (or
a seperate file which is the real script) to it, otherwise just prints
a useful message? Any "generic" message from a fake wish would
probably not have enough context to help...
