IMPORTANT: sendmail dilemma

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

It has been discovered that the version of `sendmail' I uploaded for both the
stable and frozen distributions (8.7.6-2) is incompatible with libc5 prior to
version 5.4.7.

In order to avoid problems for people who are going to upgrade, I would like
to request that the new sendmail 8.8.3-1 package, which properly indicates
this dependency, be moved from unstable to frozen. I have not heard of any
problems with the new package, and I have been using it myself now for some
time on two separate machines.

Furthermore, I will probably be uploading a new version of 8.7.6 for the
stable distribution that is built on an older system to fix the libc
conflicts.
