When I made the change from X client packages depending on
elf-x11r6lib to X client packages depending on xlib6, I looked through
the packages file to see if there were any packages that depended on
'xlib'. There weren't. While testing the new X packages at home,
though, a number of people still had buggy versions of X client
packages installed which depended on 'xlib'.

As far as I know, the only other dependency problem is with tcl; I've
seen people have problems with packages depending on xdevel, which has
been renamed to xlib6-dev. I will add a 'Provides: xdevel' line to the
next release of xlib6-dev.
