ok, that's a good reason. it can make installing debian a lot easier for
people who don't already have a linux system.
so instead of having multiple boot disks, we can have one boot disk
plus a collection of special kernels and instructions saying "if you
have <insert hardware type here>, download kernel.01 and copy it to
a:\kernel"
how are modules handled? are they on the compressed minix filesystem or
on the FAT filesystem?
I suppose they should be on the FAT filesystem too...

i trust mount & cp a whole lot more than i trust mcopy.
