Bug#5232: dpkg-ftp produces errors when parsing files upon install

Package: dpkg-ftp
Version: 1.4-5

When I try to install from dselect with the ftp option, I get the
following error messages:

 contrib...
Odd number of elements in hash list at /usr/lib/dpkg/methods/ftp/install line 124, <PKGFILE> chunk 489.

I can supply any supplemental files which are necessary

I am using the following version of dpkg:
