A nice sysadmin front-end to the system is Great Idea. Lots of people have been talking about it a lot. There's been talk about porting linuxconf to Debian. Also, there is the Swedish ReadyNet program by Signum Support, which I think would be easier to port. I don't have a URL handy, but it should be easy to find.
