Bug#5083: vim uses line wrapping by default, dangerous

Package: vim
Version: 4.5-2

On my system vi is a symlink to vim, and I don't set the EDITOR and VISUAL
environment variables. So 'vim' is called when I type 'crontab -e'. The
problem is that vim breaks long lines, which breaks the crontab file.
I'm not a vi user, I just use it for this kind of purpose, so I don't
know how to unwrap lines or how to change vim's configuration, and I don't
have time to read vim's documentation just to make 'crontab' work. I think
that by default vim should not change the text formatting.
