Aha! I must have missed that first time around the manuals. I'm
assuming the epoch overrides everything, so that the package will have
an epoch from now til forever. Please correct me if I'm wrong :)

Well, that wasn't the problem. Somehow, the a.out compiler thought it
got installed, but nothing actually got installed. Not sure what
happened there. At any rate, I grabbed the .deb, did a dpkg -i, and
now all is happy. Strange.
Thanks for the help all. It may take a few days on this package.
I've really got some sleverolling to do here.
