Bug#4971: FTP methods for dselect goofs on not enough room
Package: dpkg-ftp
Version: 1.4.5
When downloading packages using the dpkg-ftp method, selection
is not allowed for packages if there is not room left.
I.e. if a package needs 100k to install and only 80k is left,
the script will say "no room left for: (package)...". Despite
this, these packages will attempt to install.
(I assumed it would de-select the packages.)
This is with versions:
ii dpkg 1.4.0.1 Package maintenance system
ii dpkg-ftp 1.4.5 Ftp method for dselect.
I may misinterpret the program's intentions; Since starting the
downloads, I cleared up some room in /var ... perhaps the script
reevaluates the amount of free space (I doubt that it does,
doesn't make any suggestions that it is doing so.)

We believe there's something in horoscopes, UFO's and bent
spoons; Jesus was a good man just like Buddha, Mohammed and
ourselves. He was a good moral teacher although we think his
good morals were bad.
