Re: Debmake updated and ideas regarding dpkg
On symlinks vs. .so for pointing multiple names to man pages:
The man program can use one "cat file" in /var/catman for many names
because it reads the symlink. That seems to work fine here.
The alternative would be for the man program to perform a semantic
analysis of the .so file to derive the same data. It's better to perform
that analysis once in debmake rather than many times when the man program
generates indices or formats man pages.
