The author of dcfonts wants to have a copy when his work is brought
out on cdrom, and wants to be notified before you do this. See the
package copyright file for more info.

Don't you want to install stuff from non-free or?

i do not. suggest following scenario: a new pppd comes out, which
has a severely different cmd-line interface. therefore the init.d
script has to be changed. dpkg doesn't this by default, because
the file is edited and asks the unaware user to confirm.

simply provideing the script in /etc/init.d/ without the links in
/etc/rc?.d/ makes this easier.

but here i agree. ask the user whether or not the links in
/etc/rc?.d should be created. :-)
