Bug#3146: 1.1 installation: ae doesn't work

That's easy to fix. We can add control-key mappings to AE's key map.
There are a number of key maps that come with AE, one of them will
probably work.

The boot floppies don't have enough space for ex/vi. That leaves us with
ed, which is three times the size of ae, and usable only by antiquarians
(I learned ed in 1981). I'd rather use that space for another program.
