Package: xbase? Version: 3.1.2-7 When I uninstalled the mono and vga16 xservers, xdm stopped working. This was a suprise to me, because I was using the svga xserver. On closer investigation, I found that /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers was empty. -- Raul
