Hi Bill,
Well it looks like its bust :) Not much to go on though
Can you Please:
1. Save a copy of the index.db file in /var/catman
2. Get a core file.
3. Run mandb -c to rebuild the index file from scratch.
4. See if this fixes it :)
If this doesnt then maybe there is something man finds unexpected with
the contents of /usr/local/man dir. So
5. tar up /usr/local/man as well.
6. Move /usr/local/man out the way and try again.
How do you usually setup your MANPATH envar?
Has anything odd happened to you machine recently, maybe a crash that
might have corrupted the file?
Then I suppose you had better mail me all the entrails :(
[Which I will lightly char using 400 year old oak wood then cast
towards sirius while turning round 3 times with my right trouser leg
rolled up and my left breast bared. We MPP supercomputer manufacturers
often find the is the best initial debugging strategy.]
