On my system, the "Generic NCR5380/53c400" driver gets a false positive (I have no such hardware) and hangs the system. Thus, I have moved it back to a module in the generic kernel. Last words are: scsi1: SCSI bus busy, waiting up to five seconds scsi1: bus busy, attempting abort I don't know what hardware it's poking, but it has mis-identified it. Thanks Bruce
