Bug#2696: dpkg-disappear-replace.txt method doesn't work

Package: dpkg
Version: 1.1.3

miscutils is now empty of files (after installing passwd, login,
debian-utils, util-linux, bdflush, and new base). But dpkg didn't
purge it as it should have:

RoOt@femto[~]$ dpkg -l miscutils
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge
| Status=Not/Installed/Config-files/Unpacked/Failed-config/Half-installed
|/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err: uppercase=bad)
||/ Name            Version        Description
+++-===============-==============-============================================
ii miscutils 1.3-7 Miscellaneous system utilities.
RoOt@femto[~]$ dpkg -L miscutils
/.
/bin
/sbin
/usr
/usr/bin
/usr/sbin
/usr/lib
/usr/doc
/usr/man
/usr/man/man1
/usr/man/man8
/dev
/etc

Possibly it doesn't realize that those entries in its listing are
directories?

Guy
