1) the bug is in libc5 as well
2) It turns out that the bug is fixed in bind-4.9.3-REL; there's a
section of code missing in getanswer() in debian(linux) libc when
compared with bind-4.9.3-REL with regard to qtype==PTR and type==ANY...

If you could ask the upstream maintainers when/if the DNS code will be
updated to a current bind release, I'd appreciate it.
