kbd-0.90-5 doesn't start /etc/init.d/console
Sorry for my previous bad bug report (#2626). I installed new versions of
sysvinit and kbd at the same time and reported bug to the bad one :-(
I just looked at the mantainer list and saw that Charles Morgan doesn't
continue to maintain this package. If someone replaces him, may he look
at this report.
Package: kbd
Version: 0.90-5
This package provides a new console script put in /etc/init.d in replace of
the old one in /etc/rc.boot. However this script is never run at boot time :-(
It's seems to be that a link from /etc/rcN.d/SXXconsole wasn't build to
/etc/init.d/console in postinst script.
As far as I know, you can use update-rc.d to build this type of link.
However I don't know at which runlevel you can put it. May be early in the
boot process...
Moreover, old script was removed in favour of the new one without warning user,
even if he had customized it.
Regards
