Bug#2225: xntp has poor location of driftfile in ntp.con

This has already been fixed in the latest version of xntp.
3.4x-2 I think (ELF only)

In the xntp distribution, the file ntp.conf has a line which
references driftfile as follows:

driftfile /etc/ntp.drift        # path for drift file


The driftfile is regularly modified as xntpd is run.  As I understand
the FSSTND, the /etc directory should be static.

I suggest that the standard distribution of the file ntp.conf have the
following line:

driftfile /var/log/ntpstats/ntp.drift        # path for drift file


Is this the correct location for a system modified file?
