Bug#2177: "strace -ff -o file dpkg --install foo.deb" causes dpkg to hang

on trying to trace a problem with dpkg (it prints an unclear error,
and I hoped to strace it to find out *what* file was missing) strace
did some mucking with the children of dpkg, and then hung...
