I suggested using PATH in post,pre rm,inst on the list a few days ago
sorry the list = debian-devel
Ian J. answered not to do something like PATH="/usr/sbin etc."
I noticed that a few x* scripts use this kind of command.
Ian J. suggested that he'll let dpkg check if the PATH is correctly.
