* Added an autoconf check for endianness. Removed tests that
weren't being used, and removed non-existant Makefiles from
AC_OUTPUT (closes:Bug#85383,Bug#85341). This was preventing
Xalan from building in big-endian machines other
than... Solaris (and I thought it was an OS).
