I never had to handle that kind of update, my intuitive take would have been to update the upstream and pristine-tar branches directly. As I see some 1.13 upstream version already imported in there, it seems it is the correct way to handle that. Updating these branches won’t prevent the ogre-1.12 branch to be used, as the pristine-tar branch includes what is needed to generate all imported upstream tarballs, not limited to the most recent one.
