While I am not myself a big player of renpy-based games, we rely on it
for a dozen games supported by ./play.it, so it would make sense to
help with its maintenance.

I would probably need a bit of tutoring at first, but once I grasp the
basics for this package I would be more than willing to take over the
bulk of its maintenance.

Do we already have some discussion opened with upstream about this?

Otherwise I am willing to start discussing this topic with them. My
Python skills are limited, but maybe I would be able to help them in
some way with such a migration.
