While I am not myself a big player of renpy-based games, we rely on it for a dozen games supported by ./play.it, so it would make sense to help with its maintenance. I would probably need a bit of tutoring at first, but once I grasp the basics for this package I would be more than willing to take over the bulk of its maintenance. > python3-pygame-sdl2 is an old fork of pygame3-pygame by RenPy project > to add sdl2 compatibility when Pygame didn't had it. > > I really wished that RenPy would rebase on the "real" Pygame > but instead it looks like they may just vendor the whole thing inside > RenPy. Do we already have some discussion opened with upstream about this? Otherwise I am willing to start discussing this topic with them. My Python skills are limited, but maybe I would be able to help them in some way with such a migration.
