My understanding of the situation is that they don't have a problem
with the Lugaru name being used. They blessed our official 1.1 release
binaries on the website, and openSUSE has been using the Lugaru name
for a while[1] (I've submitted the required updates for the official
1.1 release, which have been accepted). Mageia is using the Lugaru
name as well[2].

If they have a problem with the name, they have not told me. If you're
prefer to keep the package named differently, that's up to you (in
that case, please use osslugaru instead of openlugaru), but at least
for my Fedora package, it's going to be named Lugaru as well[3]. The
game is essentially identical in terms of content to the one shipped
by Wolfire Games, so I don't see a reason why it should be named
differently.
