Based on your description and you being able to speak German I thought
you have seen the most controversial parts of the story (sexual abuse,
Mohammed, no way to get to a “good” ending). Unteralterbach, however,
has lots of content – I, for example, have not yet found any sex scene
with the demon girl Jo mentioned.

While I *do* think many people are misunderstanding the game, I do not
think that it matters when discussing a social taboo like sexual abuse.

It is the nature of a social taboo that people can already be outraged
by mentioning its subject matter in any other way than “this is so bad
we should not even discuss this”. Some people on Twitter are actually
outraged by this discussion because it has been mostly a civil matter.

Same here. I thought repeatedly declaring to not distribute sex scenes
through Debian would calm down people, but this does not seem the case.

I am still thinking what to make out of it. I think one lesson is to
prepare a more in-depth review beforehand and discuss it privately the
next time I propose to package something that people may find offensive.

Unrelated: Would you be willing to sponsor my package redo? It is a
build in several hundred lines of bourne shell designed by DJB.

I understand this – you have little to gain from fighting here. While I
personally can laugh about being compared to Hitler [1] and Poettering
[2], upstream is already being harrassed through an abuse report. I have
also recently received an answer to a complaint that a cheese pizza [3]
I ordered was faulty (?), despite having not ordered pizza or complained
about it recently.

[2] People told me Unteralterbach is not as bad as systemd . ;)

[3] “Cheese Pizza” is “harmless” internet slang for both “Cartoon
Pornography” and “Child Porn”: <https://encyclopediadramatica.es/CP>
