You could improve the extension regex, e.g. http://sf.net/phlipple/phlipple-([0-9.a-z]+)\.(?:zip|tgz|tbz|txz|(?:tar\.(?:gz|bz2|xz))) For more information see also https://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/HowToHelpWithFixingWatchFiles https://wiki.debian.org/debian/watch#Common_mistakes The next step would be to close the bug in debian/changelog like * Update debian/watch file to detect the latest upstream release. (Closes: #676447) You can use dch --team to create a new changelog entry if you want to make a Team Upload. If you want to add yourself to Uploaders, you can just use dch -i. Phlipple is great package to learn more about packaging. If you like you can also: * update the package to source format 3.0 * rewrite and simplify debian/rules by using dh sequencer * update debian/copyright to the latest copyright format 1.0 * bump the compat level to 9, require debhelper >= 9 * add hardening * package the latest upstream release There is probably more fun. You can also get rid of two superfluous ${shlibs:Depends} variables in $debian/control. A good idea is to run lintian on the .changes file again and to fix outstanding warnings. If you are finished and happy with your package, check out https://wiki.debian.org/Games/Sponsors/Queue Regards, Markus
