I only looked at the bug page, so the following may not be accurate.
In particular, I didn't read any of the licenses.
I'd say:
- - The game engine is GPL, so it is free.
- - It is unusable without the game files from CD, and possibly without
the AI, both of which are non-free.
This means that the engine can be in contrib until a free replacement
for the game files is made. The AI must be in non-free. The CD files
are probably not distributable at all by us.
If the the engine and the AI are too entangled to split, the
combination should of course be in non-free.
