game-data-packager with experimental quake support
Hi folks,
(CC packager of quakespasm)
I have just uploaded a new version of game-data-packager to
experimental. This adds support for two new games: heretic
(a D&D-style doom clone) and Quake.
The Quake support can handle the shareware data, if passed a
recognised shareware game zip, or registered/commercial
"full" game data, via either commercial CD-ROM or a
directory of game data.
It's a little rough and introduces a new virtual package
(quake-data, more on that below) so I wanted to run it
through experimental before sid. I think there are plenty
of rough edges in the quake "guess" mode, in particular.
New packages/virtual packages:
"quake-data" is provided by the binaries created for
shareware data (package name quake-shareware) or full
game data (quake-registered, not sure I'm happy with
this name). The latter Replaces: the former, and both
Provides: quake-data.
Any eventual package of openquartz or similar should
Provides: quake-data too.
Coming soon is Wolfenstein 3D support.
