I don't think the point is moot: ScummVM can play a few freed games,
there's FreeDoom, there's my freedink-data.  There's no FreeBack ;)

Interestingly Fedora has a policy in that regard:

(btw I have the original game data, but in Sega Genesis cartridge format :-))
