Hi! I'm the current maintainer of gtkballs in debian. There is some stuff here that might be of interest for you. First of all, we have an update for the german translation [0] and an additional swedish translation [1] sitting here. Additionally I have created an .desktop file to integrate gtkballs into GNOME/KDE menus. I've attached this file.
